Health advice is everywhere, and a lot of it comes from someone whose credentials you can’t check. Our content is sourced from peer-reviewed research and read by a licensed clinician before it’s published. Here’s how it works.
Last updated 9/15/26.
When you search anything about your health, you’ll get plenty of results to sort through with no clear way to judge them. Everything we publish that contains health information shows you where it came from and who reviewed it.
We rely on primary sources, which means peer-reviewed journals, systematic reviews, clinical practice guidelines from medical societies, and government health agencies like the CDC, the NIH, and the FDA. At times we also draw on our own clinicians, attributed by name in the article.
We avoid consumer health blogs and content aggregators, and we don't treat press releases or company-funded research as independent evidence. When we cite a study, we link to the study, so you can read it yourself.
Step 1
A writer with a health and science background reviews the current guidelines and the primary research on the topic.
Step 2
It goes to a licensed clinician on our care team, either a physician or physical therapist, who reads it for clinical accuracy and checks that every claim matches its source.
Step 3
The writer and the reviewing clinician go back and forth until they both sign off, ensuring it meets our clinical standards.
Step 4
Guidelines change, so we review our library against current recommendations, and update or retire what's out of date.
